A short story about us
A proud Lincoln, Nebraska native, I’ve always been drawn to the outdoors and the connections it fosters between people and nature. My late father, an avid mountain climber and adventurer, inspired my passion for the wild. One of my mother's earliest memories—though I was just three months old—is being carried in his mountain pack while he explored the trails. Those moments ignited a lifelong love for the outdoors, including camping, hiking, and mountain climbing.
Over the years, I’ve turned that passion into purpose, sharing the transformative power of nature with others. Whether teaching wilderness survival skills at YMCA Camp Kitaki, coaching soccer, and rugby, or simply encouraging time outdoors, I’ve seen firsthand how being in nature supports mental health and personal growth. In an era where so much of life happens indoors and on screens, I’m committed to inspiring others to step outside, reconnect, and make the most of the time we have on Earth.
